CASE 11
Invisalign
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment Details
- Applied full-arch orthodontic treatment (Comprehensive) with the clear aligner appliance Invisalign. Carried out “lateral expansion,” widening the dental arch starting from the back teeth, to secure space for the teeth to line up without extraction. Moved the teeth, which overlapped in a complex pattern, one by one to untangle them, forming a functional and beautiful U-shaped arch.
- Treatment Period / Sessions
- Period: about 2 to 2 and a half years Number of visits: once every 1.5 to 2 months
- Cost
- Total ¥880,000 to ¥1,045,000 (tax included) (breakdown: Invisalign Comprehensive package) *This is a full-arch orthodontic plan, because it includes high-difficulty recovery treatment.
- Risks & Side Effects
- When moving teeth that overlap, gum recession or a “black triangle” (a gap between two teeth) may occur. Because the treatment period is long, keeping up motivation and strictly keeping to the wear time (at least 20 hours a day) are key to success.
CASE 10
Invisalign
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment Details
- Carried out full-arch orthodontic treatment using the clear, removable orthodontic appliance Invisalign. Based on a simulation from the iTero 3D scanner, the aligners were exchanged in stages to move the teeth gradually, straightening the dental arch without extraction. *A procedure that polishes the sides of the teeth very slightly (IPR) was used to create space for the teeth to line up.
- Treatment Period / Sessions
- Treatment period: about 1 year to 1.5 months Number of visits: once every 1.5 to 3 months (for follow-up and receiving new aligners)
- Cost
- Total ¥880,000 (tax included) (breakdown: Invisalign Standard package). *The cost of a retainer may be charged separately.
- Risks & Side Effects
- If you don't keep to a wear time of at least 20 hours a day, the teeth may not move as planned and the treatment period may become longer. Right after starting treatment, or when switching to a new aligner, you may feel a tightening pain or discomfort in the teeth. After treatment, wearing a retainer is essential to prevent the teeth moving back.
