Dental Implants Case
In their 30s. Having lost a back tooth, came in saying, “I want to be able to chew firmly again, but I’m reluctant to have a ‘bridge’ that cuts into the healthy teeth on either side, or a removable ‘denture.’”
CASE 06
Dental Implants
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment Details
- Carried out surgery to embed a titanium artificial tooth root (the implant body) into the jawbone at the site of the missing tooth. After the bone and the implant were firmly fused together (osseointegration), a ceramic artificial tooth was fitted on top, restoring a bite feel and appearance that are no different from natural teeth. *This treatment protects the tooth without placing a load on the healthy teeth around it.
- Treatment Period / Sessions
- Treatment period: about 3 to 6 months (including the healing period for osseointegration) Number of visits: about 6 to 10
- Cost
- ¥440,000 (tax included) and up (breakdown: first-stage implant placement surgery ¥220,000 + the crown and second-stage surgery ¥220,000). *This is a guide price for the case of using an Osstem-brand implant. *If bone augmentation (GBR) is needed, an additional fee applies.
- Risks & Side Effects
- Because this involves surgery, pain, swelling, bleeding or bruising may occur afterwards. Neglecting daily care and regular maintenance can lead to “peri-implantitis,” a condition similar to periodontal disease, with a risk that the implant will come loose and fall out.
